Softball Recap: Centennial Patriots vs. Meridian Warriors

Centennial fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Meridian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 17-16. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Hannah Featherly and Cali Moorhouse did some serious damage despite the final result: Featherly went 2-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Moorhouse went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Bailey Simpson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Centennial has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Meridian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.
