Recap: Milan Wildcats vs. Higbee Tigers
On Friday, Milan came up short against Higbee and fell 67-54. While losing is never fun, Milan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while Higbee is ranked 188th).
Despite the loss, Milan still got an impressive performance from Ahmet Niasse, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 51.9% of Milan's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Keaton Weter was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Milan's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Higbee, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Milan will head out on the road to challenge Westran at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Westran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Higbee, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Callaway at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Higbee's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
