Baseball Game Preview: Eldorado Eagles vs. Fairfield Mules

Eldorado is 1-9 against Fairfield since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Mules at 4:30 p.m. Eldorado will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Eldorado is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Norris City-Omaha-Enfield with a sharp 21-4 win on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Fighting Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Maddex Rash and Nolan Rilying did most of the damage at the plate: Rash went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Rilying went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Rash has become a key player for Eldorado: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-13 otherwise. Jordan Jones was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eldorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Fairfield was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 15-1 to Harrisburg.

Fairfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Easton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Easton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 4-14. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
