Recap: Gregory Gorillas vs. Burke Cougars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Gregory Gorillas gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They blew past Burke 72-49. Winning may never get old, but Gregory sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Gregory got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cruz Klundt out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Klundt is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Gregory's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Burke, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Gregory will be playing in front of their home fans against Avon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Avon is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Burke, they will head out on the road to challenge Boyd County at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Boyd County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday.
