Horizon fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Windermere on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 13-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windermere Wolverines. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Horizon lost, don't look at Emmanuel Blackwell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Those 114 rushing yards gave Blackwell a new career-high.

Windermere got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Reilly out in front who threw for 307 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. A healthy portion of Reilly's aerial production (119 yards to be exact) went to Shawn Falahpour.

Horizon's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Windermere, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
