Basketball Recap: Crossroads Charter Academy Takes a Loss

Crossroads Charter Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Mesick Bulldogs and fell 54-19. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Despite the loss, Crossroads Charter Academy still got an impressive performance from Bentley Freeman, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Freeman a new career-high in assists (four).

Issac Stroh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mesick, putting up 15 points. Jaeden Simpson was another key player, earning ten points.

Crossroads Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mesick, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroads Charter Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Holton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crossroads Charter Academy is facing Holton at the right time seeing as Holton is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Mesick, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Traverse City Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Traverse City Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mesick surely won't give up without a fight.
