Preview: Skyline Hawks vs. Kettle Run Cougars
Two dominant backs in Aidan Vaught and Colton Quaker are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Skyline Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Kettle Run Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kettle Run took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Skyline, who comes in off a win.
Skyline never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Warren County last Friday. They blew past the Wildcats, posting a 43-0 win on the road.
Skyline got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vaught out in front who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown. Zayden Burks also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Kettle Run's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 31-13 fall against Brentsville District.
Skyline's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Kettle Run, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-1.
Skyline was dealt a bruising 56-6 loss at the hands of Kettle Run in their previous matchup back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kettle Run's Quaker, who rushed for 162 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry.
