Preview: Pocola Indians vs. Talihina Golden Tigers
Pocola is 10-0 against Talihina since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pocola Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Talihina Golden Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Pocola is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Pocola can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They breezed by Heavener at home to the tune of 73-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Pocola has posted since December 12, 2023.
Meanwhile, Talihina was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 59-53 to Hartshorne.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kaidon Potts, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramses Hernandez, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Pocola pushed their record up to 15-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.36 points. As for Talihina, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Pocola against Talihina when the teams last played on Thursday as the team secured a 68-35 win. Will Pocola repeat their success, or does Talihina have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
