Baseball Recap: Pine Forest Has No Trouble Against E.E. Smith

Pine Forest won the last time they faced E.E. Smith and things went their way on Tuesday too. Pine Forest blew past E.E. Smith 15-2. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Chase Mims was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Temple, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pine Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pine Forest is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. E.E. Smith is on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Forest will take on Lee County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for E.E. Smith, they will challenge Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
