Volleyball Recap: Gallatin's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Gallatin was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Portland last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Green Wave fell just short of the Green Hill Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Wave of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Gallatin ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 11 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-17, 25-23, 21-25, 15-11.

Gracie Hibdon paced Gallatin's offense, picking up 20 kills. Hibdon got some help from Chloe Wix and her 21 assists. Sarah Grace Slusher controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Abbie Lytle had an outrageously good game for Green Hill as she had 19 digs and two aces. Those 19 digs gave Lytle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Savage, who had seven digs and one assist.

Gallatin's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4. As for Green Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Gallatin has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Goodpasture Christian on the 3rd. As for Green Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Beech on the 4th.
