Football Preview: Portal Panthers vs. Twiggs County Cobras
The Portal Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Twiggs County Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Portal can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home last Saturday. They and Bulloch Academy were almost perfectly matched up, but Portal suffered a 19-18 defeat.

Meanwhile, Twiggs County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 36-0 defeat at the hands of Greene County. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 456th, while the Tigers are ranked 178th).
Everything came up roses for Portal against Twiggs County when the teams last played back in August of 2023 as the squad secured a 44-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Portal since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
