Football Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Eastside Early College

Eastside Early College won the last time they faced Austin Achieve and Jaylan Cathey did his part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers blew past the Polar Bears 72-6 on Friday for which the team can thank Cathey, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making two total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Eastside Early College's defense made their presence known, laying out Maurice Weatherspoon five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Eastside Early College got some further help from Cedric Mitchell: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Eastside Early College pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Austin Achieve, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
