Basketball Recap: Altoona-Midway Takes a Loss

After flying high against Southern Coffey County last Friday, Altoona-Midway came back down to earth. The Altoona-Midway Jets had to suffer through a 61-25 loss at the hands of the Crest Lancers. The match marked the Jets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Joey Lamendola and William Stackhouse, who each put up seven points. Stackhouse also led the team in rebounds with seven. Kage Beck took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Altoona-Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Crest, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3-1.

Altoona-Midway won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chetopa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Altoona-Midway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season. As for Crest, they and Central Heights will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Crest is facing Central Heights at the right time seeing as Central Heights is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
