It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Putnam County can now relate to. They fell 40-27 to the Temple Tigers on Friday. The War Eagles lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in August of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-21 score last time.

Temple was led to victory by Cj Gray and Maclann Metayer. Gray rushed for 117 yards and four touchdowns, while Metayer rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. That's the most rushing yards Metayer has posted since back in August.

Putnam County now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Temple, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
