Basketball Game Preview: Avalon Eagles vs. Morgan Eagles

The Avalon Eagles will take on the Morgan Eagles in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Avalon has three straight victories, Morgan has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Avalon blew past Blum, posting a 59-28 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 31 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Morgan played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 69-24 defeat at the hands of Abbott. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Avalon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Avalon came up short against Morgan in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 48-43. Can Avalon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
