Softball Preview: Economedes Jaguars vs. Rivera Raiders

The Economedes Jaguars will take on the Rivera Raiders in a tournament on Thursday. Rivera took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Economedes, who comes in off a win.

Economedes is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since March 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-4 margin over Valley View. The Jaguars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Adrienne Tagle was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Miranda Aguirre was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Like Economedes, Rivera also got a great game from a two-way player: Kiley Trevino. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Trevino was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Rivera's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Economedes, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.
