Softball Game Preview: John Jay Patriots vs. Brewster Bears

The John Jay Patriots will face off against the Brewster Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, John Jay put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. Everything went their way against New Rochelle as they made off with a 16-3 victory. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Huguenots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Brewster earned a 12-7 victory over North Salem on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bears' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Giana Kusterer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kusterer was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Emma Mariella was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Carly Krebs, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win got Brewster back to even at 3-3. As for John Jay, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
