Archangels Catholic is a perfect 10-0 against Grand Island Lutheran since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Defenders will square off against the Lightning at 6:00 p.m. Archangels Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Grand Island Lutheran will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Archangels Catholic narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Palmer 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Defenders.

Archangels Catholic was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 24-26, 25-11.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Grand Island Lutheran's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Central Valley.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12.

Grand Island Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Archangels Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Archangels Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Grand Island Lutheran in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Defenders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
