Baseball Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Knights vs. Rocky River Pirates

The St. Francis de Sales Knights will challenge the Rocky River Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Francis de Sales 4, Rocky River 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Tucker, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyler Chupp was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Rocky River won against Brush on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Pirates beat Archbishop Hoban by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1.

Rocky River is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Francis de Sales, their win bumped their record up to 20-10.
