Volleyball Recap: Murrah Takes a Loss

Murrah lost against Germantown back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Mavericks. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Murrah was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Germantown's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-7, 25-13.

Germantown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micheala Williamson, who had seven aces and four digs. That's the most digs Williamson has posted over her last two contests. Juliana Shelnutt also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Murrah's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Germantown, their record is now 7-8.

Murrah has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Starkville on the 2nd. As for Germantown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Oxford on the 2nd.
