Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Buchanan

Buchanan put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Mission College Prep Royals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-1 on Saturday.

Katelyn Baciagalupi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Buchanan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylynn Juarez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. CeCe Simas also deserves some recognition as she stole her first stolen base of the season.

Buchanan's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Mission College Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Buchanan will take on Linden in a tournament on Monday. Buchanan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Mission College Prep, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Nipomo at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
