Baseball Recap: St. John's Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

St. John faced Algonquin Regional in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 8-0 victory. Considering the Pioneers have won five games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

St. John's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Algonquin Regional, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's will face off against St. Mary's at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 1.6, the Spartans 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Algonquin Regional, they will take on Milford at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans are facing the Scarlet Hawks at the right time seeing as the Scarlet Hawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
