Brillion never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Valders on Monday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 12-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lions' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Chase Braun made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Brillion's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-9 when he doesn't).
