Amundsen took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Benet Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Redwings on Tuesday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 10-1 victory the Redwings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Amundsen got a great performance from Alex Barsky as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Barsky has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Amundsen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick O'Keefe, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Amundsen's win bumped their record up to 9-21-1. As for Benet Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 19-11.

Looking ahead, Amundsen will challenge Chicago Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Benet Academy, they will take on Hinsdale Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Redwings surely won't give up without a fight.
