Preview: Weatherford Kangaroos vs. Paschal Panthers
The Weatherford Kangaroos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paschal Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Weatherford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 38-7 loss at the hands of Trinity. Weatherford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Meanwhile, Paschal managed to keep up with Bell until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Paschal took a serious blow against Bell, falling 44-14. While losing is never fun, Paschal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 571st, while Bell is ranked 252nd).
Even if they lost, Paschal's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Bell's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jack Davis and his two sacks.
Weatherford now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Paschal, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Weatherford has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 368.9 total yards per game. It's a different story for Paschal, though, as they've been averaging only 105.8 per game. Will Weatherford be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Paschal flip the ?
Everything went Weatherford's way against Paschal in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Weatherford made off with a 35-13 win. Does Weatherford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paschal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
