Softball Recap: Bloom's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

After soaring to 18 runs the game before, Bloom was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marian Catholic Spartans. The Blazing Trojan were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Alexandria Cowan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bloom saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Esmeralda Gomez, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Bloom's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Marian Catholic, their record now sits at 8-6.

Bloom didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-0 victory against Thornridge on the 23rd. As for Marian Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Providence Catholic on the 23rd.
