Baseball Game Preview: Egg Harbor Township Eagles vs. Oakcrest Falcons

Egg Harbor Township has gone 7-1 against Oakcrest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Egg Harbor Township is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Egg Harbor Township came out on top against St. Joseph on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Eagles took their matchup against the Wildcats 7-2. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Roman Giaconia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Mike Baxter was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Egg Harbor Township's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Kenny DelPiano also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Egg Harbor Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2025.

Meanwhile, Oakcrest fell victim to Lincoln County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 10-0. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oakcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Egg Harbor Township, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Egg Harbor Township got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Oakcrest by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
