Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Millbrook Pioneers

The Heritage Pride will square off against the Millbrook Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Heritage is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Spotswood. That's two games in a row now that the Pride have lost by exactly two runs.

Heritage got a good showing from Cam McManus, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McManus has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Delaney, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Millbrook's offense. They fell just short of Brentsville District by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pioneers have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Millbrook's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
