Kettle Run is 8-2 against Liberty since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kettle Run Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Liberty Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Kettle Run is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Kettle Run is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Meridian on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Kettle Run might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 43-20 to Meridian, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.

Meanwhile, Liberty hadn't done well against Fauquier recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Liberty came out on top against Fauquier by a score of 39-31. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Liberty's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Kettle Run, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything went Kettle Run's way against Liberty in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Kettle Run made off with a 39-19 win. Will Kettle Run repeat their success, or does Liberty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
