Soccer Game Preview: Foran vs. Griswold

The Foran Lions will challenge the Griswold Wolverines on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Foran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Ansonia get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for Foran, who have now won 11 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Griswold sidestepped Academy of International Studies for a 1-0 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Griswold's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Academy of International Studies are ranked 26th).

Foran is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those nine matchups. As for Griswold, their win bumped their record up to 7-8-1.
