Resurrection Christian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Manitou Springs as Resurrection Christian made off with a 16-0 win. The Cougars have beaten the Mustangs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mustangs has come to flipping the script.
Merick Fisbeck looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charley Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddox Sessions, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Resurrection Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manitou Springs only posted an OBP of .188.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Higley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over Millennium on Monday. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Higley also got a great performance from Alan Macias as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Cam Jantz was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that he launched this season. Ty Henze was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Resurrection Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Higley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
