Softball Game Preview: Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy vs. Gayville-Volin Raiders

Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy are taking a road trip to take on the Gayville-Volin Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Last Monday, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy and Avon finished up on equal footing with a 14-14 tie.

Meanwhile, Gayville-Volin lost 17-11 to Elk Point-Jefferson on Friday. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.

Gayville-Volin got a massive performance out of Kendra Beeck, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisley Dimmer, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5.

With that tie, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy's record moves to 0-1-1. As for Gayville-Volin, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy couldn't quite finish off Gayville-Volin when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
