Basketball Recap: East Hampton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Hampton can now relate to. They fell 64-56 to the Shepaug Valley Spartans on Thursday. The Bellringers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shepaug Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Kersten, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Kersten's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Konik, who posted 14 points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

East Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Shepaug Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

As of now, neither East Hampton nor Shepaug Valley have any future games scheduled.
