Soccer Recap: Pinecrest Prep Triumphs

Pinecrest Prep won the last time they faced Somerset Academy South Homestead and things went their way on Monday too. The Pinecrest Prep Crocs' had just enough and edged the Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes out 1-0. Given the Crocs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 441st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pinecrest Prep's one-goal win came courtesy of Matthew Hernandez, who's now up to two this season.

Pinecrest Prep's win bumped their record up to 11-0-1. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Pinecrest Prep will take on True North Classical Academy in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. True North Classical Academy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they will be playing at home against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
