Recap: Upper St. Clair Panthers vs. Chartiers Valley Colts

After flying high against Fox Chapel last Friday, Upper St. Clair came back down to earth. The Upper St. Clair Panthers took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chartiers Valley Colts on Monday. Upper St. Clair has struggled against Chartiers Valley recently, as their match on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

For Chartiers Valley's part, Taylor Walsh made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Walsh was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Delaney O'Connor and Lily Duffill did most of the damage at the plate: O'Connor went 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI, while Duffill went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
