Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Quinn King and Maryrose Felling Lead Triton Central to Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Triton Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Monrovia Bulldogs 66-64. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 65-63 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Triton Central to victory were Maryrose Felling and Quinn King. Felling went 10-for-23 en route to 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals, while King shot 62% from the field on her way to 19 points along with five assists and four steals. Felling's big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyenne Allen, who posted five points and five steals.

Despite the defeat, Monrovia had strong showings from Zoie Walls, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards, and Brynlee Hamblin, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grace Deaton, who had ten points and five assists.

The win got Triton Central back to even at 2-2. As for Monrovia, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Triton Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-19 victory against Morristown on the 26th. As for Monrovia, they have also already played their next matchup, a 66-44 win against Eminence on the 26th.
