Cypress Springs skates past Cypress Woods with ease

The Cypress Springs Panthers entered their tilt with the Cypress Woods Wildcats with 16 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 17. Cypress Springs blew past Cypress Woods 78-22 at home. Cypress Springs has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 23 points or more this season.

Cypress Springs was led to victory by Jemini Mitchell and Ayla Mcdowell. Mitchell dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Mcdowell dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. Mcdowell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bria Knight, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, Cypress Woods still got an impressive performance from Chayna Thomas, who scored 11 points.

Cypress Springs pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Cypress Woods, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Cypress Springs will square off against Bridgeland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bridgeland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Cypress Springs is ranked 11th). As for Cypress Woods, they will be playing at home against Cypress Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Cypress Park and three for Cypress Woods.
