Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Victories for Culver Academies

Culver Academies waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Carroll Cougars as they made off with a 55-35 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Culver Academies' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reid Seddelmeyer, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and five boards. That's the most points Seddelmeyer has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Herron, who posted eight points and four steals.

Seddelmeyer wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Culver Academies was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll only racked up nine assists.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eliza Rinehart, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Coveris, who put up 11 points and five boards.

Culver Academies' victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Culver Academies wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-45 win against Bremen on the 17th. As for Carroll, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-53 victory against Maconaquah on the 17th.
