Volleyball Recap: Hazen Highlanders vs. Inglemoor Vikings
Hazen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Inglemoor Vikings, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
Arisa May paced Hazen's offense, picking up 15 kills. May got some help from Noelani Kaiwi and her 17 assists. Kaiwi was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Inglemoor was led to victory by Courtney Deresh and Francine Hernandez. Deresh had 11 digs and three assists, while Hernandez had three aces and one assist. Deresh is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season.
Hazen's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Inglemoor, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.
Coincidentally, Hazen and Inglemoor will both be playing Woodinville the next time they take the court. The Vikings will host the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Highlanders will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
