Basketball Game Preview: Yantis Owls vs. Boles Hornets

Yantis hasn't had much luck against Boles recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Yantis Owls will be playing at home against the Boles Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Yantis took on Como-Pickton on Tuesday. Yantis might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 56-11 to Como-Pickton, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Boles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to North Hopkins 38-33.

Boles' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 19-8. As for Yantis, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Yantis was dealt a bruising 66-23 defeat at the hands of Boles in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Yantis was down 35-11.
