Basketball Recap: Tonkawa's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Tonkawa had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Crescent Tigers on Tuesday. This was payback for the Buccaneers, who suffered a 61-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Crescent lost, don't look at Zori Wilson. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Aja Adams-House was another key player, putting up five points along with eight steals and six boards.

Tonkawa's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Crescent, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Tonkawa will head out to square off against Ripley at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Crescent, they will take on Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
