Volleyball Recap: Vidor Comes Up Short

Vidor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Vidor was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Little Cypress-Mauriceville's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Vidor still got an impressive performance from Loghan Matherne, who had 15 digs. Matherne is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Vidor's defeat dropped their record down to 6-28. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Vidor is set to challenge their familiar foe Lumberton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville will square off against rival Jasper at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
