Soccer Game Preview: West Mecklenburg vs. Mallard Creek

West Mecklenburg hasn't had much luck against Mallard Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. West Mecklenburg will be playing at home against Mallard Creek at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

West Mecklenburg is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to Hopewell. While losing is never fun, West Mecklenburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 469th, while Hopewell are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Mallard Creek was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Hough, falling 9-0.

Mallard Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for West Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

West Mecklenburg suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Mallard Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can West Mecklenburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
