Basketball Game Preview: Murray Tigers vs. Carlisle County Comets

Murray has gone a perfect 10-0 against Carlisle County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Murray Tigers will welcome the Carlisle County Comets at 7:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Murray came up short against Lyon County and fell 79-70. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Carlisle County lost to Graves County on the road by a 64-48 margin on Monday.

Despite the loss, Carlisle County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Rickard went 7-for-12 on his way to 16 points. Rickard's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Dax Garrett was another key player, putting up eight points.

Carlisle County has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Murray, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.

Murray beat Carlisle County 56-43 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Murray repeat their success, or does Carlisle County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
