Laughlin dropped their record down to 12-9 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Lincoln County Lynx, falling 13-1. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Lincoln County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The result was nothing new for Lincoln County, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Lincoln County's part, Remington Lytle made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Lytle a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaley Bart, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Lakyla Kulani was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lincoln County beat Laughlin by a score of 13-0 later that day.
