Baseball Game Preview: Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers vs. North Oldham Mustangs

The Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the North Oldham Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pleasure Ridge Park has seven straight victories, North Oldham has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pleasure Ridge Park challenged Holy Cross on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars a 1-0 shutout. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Panthers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, North Oldham didn't have quite enough to beat Larue County on Monday and fell 2-1.

Pleasure Ridge Park pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Oldham, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Everything went Pleasure Ridge Park's way against North Oldham in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Pleasure Ridge Park made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
