Football Game Preview: Falkner Eagles vs. Ashland Blue Devils + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Falkner will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Ashland Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Falkner will be strutting in after a win while Ashland will be coming in after a loss.

Falkner took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They secured a 33-29 W over Smithville. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Falkner got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Morgan out in front who rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. Another receiver making a difference was Graydon Newby, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one TD.

Falkner didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jonis Flynn and Tyson Alberson. Alberson has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Falkner received some extra help from Zephaniel Flynn, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ashland's offense. They were dealt a 32-0 defeat at the hands of Coffeeville on Friday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Blue Devils haven't been shut out since back in August.

Falkner's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Falkner against Ashland when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 54-12 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
