Softball Game Preview: Mid-Carolina Rebels vs. Chapin Eagles

Mid-Carolina is 0-10 against Chapin since March of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Rebels will host the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Mid-Carolina is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Columbia a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Capitals: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Chapin made easy work of River Bluff on Wednesday and carried off a 15-6 win. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chapin has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Mid-Carolina, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
