Basketball Recap: David Anderson Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for David Anderson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They snuck past the East Palestine Bulldogs with a 39-33 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

David Anderson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Smyth led the charge by putting up 12 points and eight steals. Smyth is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Michaela Farson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

David Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

East Palestine's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. David Anderson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for East Palestine, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
