Holden Cohen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jose Urena was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Leifry Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Hackensack's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Paramus, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackensack will head out to challenge Pascack Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Paramus, they will venture away from home to face off against Tenafly at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
