Baseball Recap: Hackensack Gets the Win

After losing to Paramus the last time they met, Hackensack decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Comets came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 9-4 on Wednesday.

Holden Cohen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jose Urena was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Leifry Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Hackensack's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Paramus, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackensack will head out to challenge Pascack Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Paramus, they will venture away from home to face off against Tenafly at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
